3-6 feet waves to cause life-threatening swimming conditions at all Chicago-area Lake Michigan beaches
CHICAGO (WLS) -- Swimming conditions are expected to be life-threatening during the rest of the Fourth of July holiday weekend at beaches in the Chicago area.
An advisory is in effect for all Lake Michigan beaches in Chicago, the north suburbs and Northwest Indiana, officials said.
The Beach Hazards Statement advisory began Saturday night and is expected to last until Monday at 7 p.m. in Illinois and 9 p.m. in Indiana.
Wave heights will range from 3 to 6 feet, ABC7 meteorologists said.
This advisory was originally in effect until Monday morning but was extended through the evening.
